A story-telling hard rock band that tells tales of war heroes, bank robbers and clandestine lovers, this intrepid four-piece peddles true stories and truer fiction. Drawing inspiration from bands like The Headstones (whom they recently opened for), Social Distortion, Motörhead, The Offspring and Iron Maiden, The Castor Troys

Crafting fiery and infectious songs that draw you in and don’t let you go, Hamilton's THE CASTOR TROYS are sharing a very special lyric video for their cover track of Tom Petty's "Runnin' Down The Dream", which appears on the band's latest EP "Legends Never Die" released at the beginning of this November.

Chris Ledroit (Guitars, Backing Vocals) explains:
"When we were planning the songs for the EP, we knew we wanted to include a cover. We wanted something that hadn't already been covered several times, but also something that was a really familiar song. We also wanted something that wasn't right in our genre, so we could change it and make it our own. We started working on this before Tom died: in fact it was just during the mastering stage that we heard the news. It was one of those moments where you remember exactly where you were when the news came on the radio: I was on my way home from the Midwest US at a gas station somewhere west of Chicago. It was an incredible coincidence that this song had taken such an important role in our lives by then so the news came as quite a shock. And the song sure means a lot more to us now."

THE CASTOR TROYS' new EP "Legends Never Die" was produced by Andre Kaden Black plus engineered by Tal Vaisman (Ascot Royals) and has a refined the band’s sound, enabling them to capture the fierce energy of their live performance onto record, a great follow up to their 2015 debut full length “Come Hell or High Water” since forming in 2013.
"Six songs that draw influences of hard rock, punk, country and southern rock will make you sing along and pump your fist.  This is veteran songwriting with youthful energy." - The Castor Troys

SANHEDRIN Releasing Sophomore Album 'The Poisoner' on Cruz Del Sur Music in February

Brooklyn metallers SANHEDRIN will release their sophomore album, The Poisoner, on February 22 via Cruz Del Sur Music. Recorded in August and September of this year at Menegroth, The Thousand Caves with Colin Marston at the helm, The Poisoner features eight songs of timeless, classy heavy metal that picks up where the band's acclaimed A Funeral For The World debut left off, with an array of big riffs, catchy vocals and explorations into darker territory than before.
"We had no idea how that record would be received when we released it," begins guitarist Jeremy Sosville, also of BLACK ANVIL. "We knew we were proud of it, but the response from the greater public was quite surprising and humbling. Since then, we've been able to play some great shows and really learn what makes our band unique and build on that."
SANHEDRIN, who also feature former AMBER ASYLUM and LOST GOATvocalist/bassist Erica Stoltz and drummer Nathan Honor, used ideas that date back to the formation of the band for The Poisoner in addition to songs that were written around the time of A Funeral For The World's release. The overriding goal, however, was to have an album ready in time for their European live debut next March alongside labelmates GATEKEEPER.
"I think all three of us progressed quite a bit as individual players as well as learning to maximize our roles as a collective," says Sosville. "The approach is unique for every song, but it normally starts with me bringing in some riffs that work well together. Erica usually comes up with a vocal line and all three of us convene until we're all happy with the final result. A very important aspect we pay attention to is how all the songs flow together. It's a crucial element to any great record. We certainly did not want to write the same album a second time but we did not want to forsake what makes us SANHEDRIN either. Overall, I think this record is a little darker and a little meaner.

A distinctive element of SANHEDRIN is their thought-provoking lyrics, many of which that go deeper than metal's often fantasy and allegory-based themes. On The PoisonerSANHEDRIN addresses real-world themes that can be seen virtually every day in the news. "A lot of the album is about the destructive and chaotic side of human nature," says Stoltz. "The thirst for power, living in a world slipping into a surreal soup of archaic ideas and advanced technology."
After an active 2018 that saw SANHEDRIN share the stage with the likes of EYEHATEGOD, THE OBSESSED, CAULDRON, WITCH MOUNTAIN and SABBATH ASSEMBLY (among others), the band is preparing for an even bigger live assault in 2019 behind The Poisoner.
"I hope that the people who support us already are as proud of this record as we are and that we can gain some new supporters with this new material," wraps Sosville. "We work really hard to make music we believe in, so it's gratifying when you can reach more people with it and bring them along for the journey. We're not the biggest band out there, but the people who do follow us have been extremely positive and supportive. We're really grateful for that. I'm probably most excited at the prospect of bringing these songs to as many stages as we can in 2019."

HECATE ENTHRONED - release new album 'Embrace Of The Godless Aeon' on January

HECATE ENTHRONED - New Album "Embrace Of The Godless Aeon" Coming In January
First release in five years from UK blackened death metal group now available for pre-order

The UK-based blackened death metal group HECATE ENTHRONED will release “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon,” their first album in five years (and their debut for new label M-Theory Audio), on January 25, 2019. The album – which features cover artwork by Nestor Avalos (BloodbathRotting ChristThe Black Dahlia Murder), as seen above – can be pre-ordered now on CD and red splatter vinyl at this location (www.m-theoryaudio.com/store). A limited-edition deluxe box set that includes exclusive purple vinyl and cassette editions of the album, a signed photo card and other collectibles is also available.

A new song from the album, “Temples That Breathe,” will premiere on streaming and digital download platforms on December 7. A brief teaser clip can be seen here:
https://youtu.be/VGB5hTZwcas

One of the UK underground's longest-running and most respected acts, HECATE ENTHRONED has been praised by the likes of Terrorizer for their “mixture of death metal aggression with black metal atmosphere.” “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon”– their first recording with vocalist Joe Stamps, who joined the band in 2015 – sees the group continue to deftly mix black with death, modern with classic and extreme with symphonic. The album, which features guest vocals on three songs by Sarah Jezebel Deva (Cradle of FilthTherionMortiis), was co-produced by Dan Abela(VoicesThe Antichrist Imperium).

Says bassist Dylan Hughes, “This album with its epic sweeping orchestration and heavy aggression represents a new chapter for us cementing the chemistry of the current lineup and our partnership with M-Theory. A welcome return from Sarah Jezebel Deva hints to the grandiose flavor of earlier releases, but this time, it's tempered with a guitar and drum sound forged from solid steel and then edged by a razor-sharp production from Dan Abela. The summoning of unholy flame and terror that is the cover art is an oil painting commissioned from in-demand satanic artist Nestor Avalos and begins your visceral journey through cold bleak landscapes, crushing tormented seas and searing shards of heavy metal.”

Originally co-founded in Wales by guitarist Nigel Dennen in the mid-1990s, HECATE ENTHRONED is dedicated to delivering their own brand of evil metal with little regard to politics or the trends of popular demand. The group's 1997 debut, the Andy Sneap-produced “The Slaughter Of Innocence, A Requiem For The Mighty”(Blackend Records), was a seminal release in the then-burgeoning orchestral black metal movement. Since then, several full-lengths and EPs and numerous live performances have firmly established the band as one of extreme metal's most important voices, a sentiment that “Embrace Of The Godless Aeon” firmly reinforces.

HECATE ENTHRONED's next live performance will take place on December 1 at the Tabernacl Chapel in Llandundo, North Wales, followed by a show in Belgium on December 14th with Altar at De Verlichte Geest in Roeselare. The group plans to tour extensively throughout 2019.

The Digs Divine - Review By Frøya Montezino

A taste of your younger days
Do you ever miss those days listening to Motley Crue and Anthrax, filling your ears with the pure sound of heavy metal? Do you remember your first car hitting the road playing Motorhead, spiking up the surroundings where you felt alive, young and free. Let the dogs divine’s album trig the memories of hanging out with your friends, drinking beer, singing the lyrics of your favorite band with whatever voice was given to you . After listening to the first song of their new album I felt the urge to sing outloud, rocking around in my tiny apartment with the voice of Tom hart filling my living room. I wanted to hear more and I felt happy that I was given this album to write about.
After changing in band members, managers and booking agents they were found by Tim King (soil) who signed them to Mortal Music Inc after hearing they’re demo of “Hell Wouldn’t Have Me”  The Dogs Divine  find inspiration in bands like Motley Crue, Pantera Guns-N-Roses Ozzy ,Faster Pussycat, AC/DC, The Ramones, The Cult, Anthrax and White Zombie. After years with new forms of definitions in the metal/rock genre, where the new music that’s been produced have been nothing but mere shadows of the freedom old school rockers found in heavy riffs and drum solos (a way of creating music that takes a lot of energy and artistic freedom). The dogs divine have a nice way of mixing old school heavy metal/rock with the more modern version of heavy metal, which works well together.
They’re first song “Dogs” is an explosion of melodic and heavy metal riffs, that will make old school rockers smile, finally finding some fresh blood in the game. Tom hart did not want to make music that sounded like a bad replica of what has been given out by the bands they are influenced by. He has succeeded by breathing fresh air into the music by incorporating some elements from the modern heavy metal.  They’re song “Gypsy king “gives the album variation with elements of Texas blues/rock, reminding of the band Lynyrd Skynyrd known by songs as Simple Man and Sweet Home Alabama. Tom hart has proven variety in his voice by singing a soft song like gypsy king where his voice gets spiked up in the song “Join the crowd”. Singing like a true heavy metal vocalist making his voice sound even more “raw” by pushing the line between heavy metal and darker types of metal with something that almost sounds like a soft growl in his voice. They’re last song is inspired by the loss of Tom’s friend Shawn (who is mentioned in the first verse of this song) that killed himself I 2007. The band has stated this about the last song, and I quote: We all experience loss, but this is the type that we question why for the rest of our lives. The song is very melodic like the rest of their songs in the album. The dogs divine has made a song about something that touches a lot of people, suicide. Being left as mourners with questions like why. The song starts slow with the vocal weighing the most of the song were it takes up to heavy guitar solos and a soar intensity in toms so called “whiskey voice”. the riffs and Tom’s voice shows a mere desperation in ones feelings after being left back in such a tragedy, where the song fades away by the slowly dying guitar with the last words: One for the ages.
The band has proven for the skeptics; Old school heavy metal is not dead (only refreshend).  To quote AC/DC Highway to hell: Don’t need reason, don’t need rhyme, Aint nothing I'd rather do, Going down, party time, my friends are gonna be there too.

-Frøya Montezino-

In case you haven’t got it, I highly recommend this band to anyone who can relate to this review.
