PRESS RELEASE APOLLON RECORDS: Knekklectric releases first single from ambitious new album. Knekklectric are finally back, four years after the album “For mange melodia” that got a lot of praise from a wide array of European reviewers. On Wednesday October 27th Apollon Records releases the first single from the progband’s new album “Alt blir verre”. The six minute-long song is the title track from what will be Knekklectric's third album. The album will be out in the winter of 2022 and contains seven songs. Knekklectric, hailing from Ålesund and Bergen, Norway, build upon their quite unique signature sound; playful and grand progrock/fusion. But this time the arrangements are bigger and more intricate, and the lyrics are darker. The single “Alt blir verre”, which translates to “Everything gets worse”, really showcases the ambition of the album - with its kind opening, Zappa-inspired midsection and big King Crimson-esque ending. It feels great to finally present something new. We are very proud of our new album, and hope people will enjoy it. I think this record is the kind you either find inspiring or exhausting, bass player Erlend Alm Lerstad says. The album is recorded at Duper Studio and Solslottet Studio in Bergen, together with our talented producer Iver Sandøy. Robert Høyem has made both the single cover and album cover, using paintings from artist Audun Alvestad. They’ve provided ridiculously good-looking artwork, drummer Jon Bolstad says.
The band has also made a music video for the single which will give the listener a glimpse of the recording process. Knekklectric are: Johannes Drabløs Maaseide (guitar and vocals), Edvard Brøther (guitars), Jon Bolstad (drums), Erlend Alm Lerstad (bass guitar) and Hogne Aarflot (keyboards).
